Tasmanian Winners of ACS National Awards

The Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) has just wrapped up its National Awards and Expo in Hobart.

Congratulations to the three Tasmanian cinematographers who won four awards:

  • Pawel Achtel: Award of Distinction in the Experimental and Specialised category for Coral Sea
  • Mark Dobbin ACS: Award of Distinction in the Neil Davis International News category for Aid Relief
  • Joe Shemesh: Golden Tripod in the Ron Taylor Wildlife and Nature category for Mountain Air - Valley Mist
  • Joe Shemesh: Award of Distinction in the Ron Taylor Wildlife and Nature Category for Sixteen Legs

A wonderful effort - and a great event put on by the Tasmanian Branch of ACS, with the Reception at Government House, screening of the classic film, Gallipoli, at The State Cinema, the Expo at the Grand Chancellor Hotel and the Awards at MONA.

Congratulations to all the National winners! Screen Tasmania was proud to be a supporter.
