Screen Tasmania Attachment Opportunities

With the upcoming production of The Survivors, Screen Tasmania is offering attachment opportunities in Locations and Art Department, and is inviting expressions of interest for a Sustainability Coordinator attachment.

The launch of Screen Tasmania’s new Training and Placements program supports emerging screen practitioners by facilitating valuable work opportunities on local (and interstate) screen productions.

The Training Register allows eligible practitioners to register their expression of interest to be considered for any upcoming opportunities. This is a catch-all for all current and future opportunities, including for the upcoming production The Survivors.

Register your information on the Screen Tasmania Training Register to be considered for one of the following attachments.

You can register through SmartyGrants. Please read the Eligibility and Assessment criteria before applying .

DUE DATE: Please complete your registration before Tuesday, 2 January 2024.

Sustainability

Do you have an interest in environmental sustainability and professional film/television production?  With the emerging field of Sustainable Film Production gaining momentum in Australia, the upcoming Tasmanian production of The Survivors has employed a Sustainability Coordinator in line with Matchbox Pictures, TAP and Universal's environmental policies.

The attachment role will shadow the Sustainability Coordinator as they educate, record and report on carbon emissions and promote carbon reduction strategies throughout production. Together they will empower departments to take steps to reduce their environmental impact, assist in the implementation and monitoring of sustainability policies and waste management strategies, and gather data used to calculate our carbon footprint (using the industry-standard albert calculator). The position is two days per week for 10 weeks, starting week commencing 15 January 2024 (work days and start date are flexible).

Learning how to approach and analyse film and TV production through this ’sustainability accounting’ lens will be a highly in-demand skill as this field progresses. This is a unique opportunity for anyone passionate about both the environment and TV production, as training opportunities are rare.
