ACS Vic/Tas Awards winners 2015

ACS Screen Tasmania Victoria and Tasmania Awards Night

Congratulations to the Tasmanians who won Gold and Silver awards at the Victoria/Tasmania Australian Cinematographers' Society Awards night, sponsored by Screen Tasmania.

  • Pawel Achtel won 2 Gold awards - one in the 'Experimental and Specialised' category for  Best of Pilau; and the other in the 'Ron Taylor AM ACS Wlidlife and Nature' category for Sea of Love Teaser.
  • Tom Waugh won 2 Gold Awards, both in the 'Web Content and New Media' category for Kunanyi and Dover
  • Hobart cinematographer, Beau Molloy, also won 2 Gold awards in the 'TV Magazine and Lifestyle' category for a CNN feature on rally driver, Sebastien Ogier and the other for Inside Africa - Conservation: Seychelles Birdlife. Beau currently works for CNN in London.
  • Tasmanian freelance cameraman, Trent Butler ACS, won a Silver award in the 'Documentary' category for an Al Jazeera special, PNG's Snake Man.

All the Gold award winners are eligible for a Golden Tripod trophy at the National ACS Awards to be held in Adelaide next May.
