How do I apply?
Eligible screen practitioners can register an expression of interest on the Screen Tasmania Training Register via Smarty Grants.
The Training Register is a central portal for practitioners wanting to apply for training opportunities including attachments, placements, or trainees.
This is a rolling list that will be assessed and presented to upcoming productions as they engage with Screen Tasmania and begin pre-production.
Screen Tasmania requires production companies to employ Mandatory attachments as part of its Production Support Agreements. Mandatory attachments come at the cost of the production company and needs to satisfy eligibility and assessment criteria outlined above.
What happens after you apply?
Once on the register, you may be considered for either an attachment, placement, or traineeship on a number of film and television projects. Screen Tasmania will provide the production company with a shortlist of practitioners suitable for a training opportunity based on the assessment criteria.
If you are shortlisted, Screen Tasmania will contact you to check interest and availability before the shortlist is sent to the production company. The production company may wish to interview shortlisted practitioners to assess suitability.
The production company then decides on the successful applicant/s who are contracted directly with them.
Both the production company and successful applicant must complete Screen Tasmania’s Learning Contract which sets expectations for both parties, along with a list of roles, tasks and duties clearly required of them.
Upon finishing the attachment/placement period, both the attachment and production company will complete an Acquittal Report.
Please be aware that submitting an application to the Register does not guarantee selection for a position as either an attachment, placement or traineeship.
