Screen Tasmania supported productions win AACTA awards
The Hunter and My Place Series 2 win at the inaugural Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts awards
Winners in some categories of the inaugural Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) awards (previously known as the AFI awards) were announced on 15 January 2012 in Sydney ahead of the main ceremony on 31 January.
Screen Tasmania is delighted to congratulate the winners in the following categories:
Australian Feature Film
Best Cinematography Award: Robert Humphries,The Hunter
Best Original Music Score: Matteo Zingales, Michael Lira and Andrew Lancaster, The Hunter
Best Children's Television Series:My Place Series 2
Local company, Blue Rocket Productions has also been recognised for its development of the My Place website when it was awarded the New Media Producer of the Year award at SPAA last year.
The Hunter has been nominated in a total of 14 categories in the AACTA awards, including Best Film. Screen Tasmania wishes Vincent Sheehan and his team the best of luck when the remaining categories are announced later in January.
