The Screen Innovation Fund is a $2 million fund over three years which will be implemented in three ways:
Most of the funds will be available to the existing Capitalise production investment program to enable investment in projects of state significance.
Funds will be made available for projects funded through the Originate project development program to undertake production of proof of concept, such as production of a pilot to attract marketplace support in the next stage.
Projects will need to have demonstrated their quality through their delivery against their ‘Intermediate stage’ funding (to be renamed ‘Originate: Ideas’). Projects that have done so will be invited by the Screen Tasmania Expert Advisory Group to apply for ‘Intermediate: Vision’ support. This will allow filmmakers to take projects to market with audio-visual proof of the project.
Revised program guidelines will be released shortly.
As opportunities arise, funding will be allocated towards initiatives that will result in production of innovative content with an opportunity to connect with the market and with audiences.
