The Screen Innovation Fund is a $2 million fund over three years which will be implemented in three ways:
Production investment program
Most of the funds are available through the existing Production Investment program to enable investment in projects of state significance. Projects funded by the Screen Innovation Fund are noted on the Funding Approvals page.
Proof-of-concept production program
Funds are available for projects funded through the Proof-of-concept Production program to develop a project and to undertake production of proof of concept, such as a sizzle-reel, short version of a long-form piece, or test footage specifically to attract marketplace support in the next stage.
Two projects are currently in production, Ava's Island from Blue Rocket Productions Pty Ltd and UnExtiction from Move Media Pty Ltd. Further details can be found at the Funding Approvals page.
Initiatives
As opportunities arise, funding will be allocated towards initiatives that will result in production of innovative content with an opportunity to connect with the market and with audiences.

Dramatic Flare
In late 2019, Screen Tasmania facilitated a high-level development workshop for short-form drama projects, called Dramatic Flare.
