Interstate industry short course fees

This stream provides funding for attendance at interstate industry short courses under the Industry Development Guidelines (PDF 473.0 KB).

It is for emerging practitioners to gain specialist skills and knowledge not available in Tasmania.

  • Funding is available to eligible applicants for up to 50 per cent of the course fee.
  • Support is capped at $2 000 per financial year.
  • Support will not be available if similar course content has been offered in Tasmania within the previous six months.

    In addition to the eligibility described in the General Guidelines and Terms of Trade (PDF 2.5 MB), applicants should be at 'emerging level'.

    Applications will be assessed on:

    • evidence that the course will assist the career development of the applicant,
    • the extent to which the completion of the course will assist the applicant to get a job or attachment, and
    • any other plans the applicant has to fully utilise their time interstate to further their careers.

    Applications to attend short courses should be made at least three weeks prior to travel (for in-person courses) or the commencement of the online course. Currently, courses delivered in person cannot be supported because of COVID-19 risks.

    These guidelines should be read in conjunction with Screen Tasmania's General Guidelines and Terms of Trade (PDF 2.5 MB).

    Applicants must speak to Screen Tasmania's Industry Development Manager to discuss their project before submitting an application. Please call Screen Tasmania on 03 6165 5070 to arrange a meeting.
