Arts and Screen Digital Production Fund

The Arts and Screen Digital Production Fund supports Tasmanian artists and arts organisations to work with Tasmanian screen professionals to make content for digital distribution and promotion.

It is designed to support artists and arts organisations whose work has been cancelled, postponed or disrupted by COVID-19 to work with screen partners.

All activities must include both arts and screen professionals.

Key dates

Opens: 27 March 2020
Closes: 4 May 2020

Notification will occur within three weeks of the closing date.

Activities can start any time after notification.

Who can apply?

  • This program is open to individuals, groups and organisations
  • Groups with interstate members can apply but only Tasmanian artists and professionals can be supported
  • Arts and screen organisations must be based in Tasmania

Organisations in receipt of administered funding from the Tasmanian Government (including the Theatre Royal Management Board) are not eligible to apply for support package funds.

All other applicants must meet Arts Tasmania’s general eligibility requirements.

Applicants can make, or be included in, up to three applications to this round.

What can I apply for?

Activities may include producing excerpts of work for digital distribution, show reels, materials for national and international market development, adapting theatrical work or performances for digital platforms, or producing podcasts and audiobooks.

Activities should have already gone through a period of creative development.

Content must be shot and produced in Tasmania using Tasmanian artists and Tasmanian screen professionals.

How much can I apply for?

  • Individuals or groups partnering with other individuals, groups or organisations can apply for up to $10 000.
  • Organisations partnering with individuals or groups can apply for up to $10 000.
  • Organisations partnering with other organisations can apply for up to $50 000.

All activities must include both arts and screen professionals.

This program has a total pool of $500 000, with funds of $150 000 to be made available to individuals and groups, and the remaining $350 000 to be available to organisations.

How will applications be assessed?

Applications will be assessed by a multi-artform panel of peer assessors drawn from the Cultural and Creative Industries Expert Register.

Peers will assess applications against the criteria of:

  • quality
  • planning
  • benefit.

Your application must be submitted before 11:59 pm on 4 May 2020.

Applications will not be considered if they are submitted after the closing date.
