SBS & NITV pitching opportunity and networking event

SBS and NITV logo

Screen Tasmania is hosting three exciting opportunities for our industry when senior commissioners from SBS come to Hobart on Thursday, 22 August 2019.

Pitching sessions

NITV is looking for bold, brave storytelling from Indigenous filmmakers and Indigenous production companies. NITV is interested in pitches from emerging and established Indigenous filmmakers working in documentary, factual entertainment, online and children’s programming.

SBS Unscripted
SBS Unscripted will be taking pitches for Documentaries, Entertainment and Food.

SBS Scripted

SBS Scripted will be taking pitches for bold dramas that sustain four hours of television. They encourage thought-provoking ideas that push boundaries, align with the SBS Charter, and off cross-platform opportunities. SBS does not commission sketch comedy or half hour programs.

Everything commissioned at SBS must reflect their Charter and explore multicultural Australia.

Meet the broadcasters and screening

Join us for an evening with SBS's Leadership and Commissioning team to hear and ask about their diverse and distinctive offering across the network in 2019-20.

Following the Q&A and networking session, you will have the exclusive opportunity to see the three Tasmanian short documentaries selected for the SBS Short Film Festival.

SBS jointly commissioned these projects with Screen Tasmania, aiming to increase career development opportunities for Tasmania’s diverse multicultural and underrepresented groups:

The Small Town Drifter
15 years after a horrific accident almost took his life, Taylor Forward heads to Japan to realise his dream of competing in the high speed motorsport of drifting.

Best mates, Shaun and Zac, fulfil a lifelong dream to form their own cricket team with the help of Hobart’s migrant community.

See what happens when passionate home cooks from our migrant and refugee community share their favourite flavours with Tasmania’s top restaurant chefs.
