Special Initiatives - Short Fuse

Screen Tasmania in association with the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) presents an exciting new initiative for Tasmanian short drama filmmakers.

The aim of this initiative is to provide young Tasmanian filmmakers with a crash-course in short drama production. Additionally, production funding of $10,000 will be provided for three teams to shoot and produce their own film.

A program of short courses in scriptwriting, producing and directing is run by experienced AFTRS lecturers. Participants are provided with a better understanding of the importance of developing film ideas that are both visual and emotional, the complexities of developing low budget film scripts, and a greater understanding of the logistics of filmmaking and the roles of the writer, director and producer.
