IGNITE – Arista and Northern Territory Film Office script development initiative

Screen Tasmania announces an exciting opportunity for a Tasmanian writer to participate in the Arista and NTFO script development initiative – Ignite.

Ignite supports projects in the early stage of development by taking participants through an intensive accelerated feature development process over six months, with two residential workshops and financial and online support to write a draft between the workshops.

Screen Tasmania is calling for applicants to submit projects for consideration to be accepted into the Ignite program, ready to attend the first residential workshop in the heart of Australia, from Sunday 1 March - Friday 6 March 2009 inclusive.

The workshop is designed and led by international story development consultant Stephen Cleary, supported by international script consultant Simon van der Borgh.

Following the workshop, participants will polish up their short documents for feedback from Stephen Cleary before they write the draft screenplay. The second residential workshop will be held in June over three days. Participants will bring their completed draft screenplay to this workshop. Following the second workshop, participants will polish their final Ignite draft.

The expected outcome of the program will be well developed stories and energised writers, ready to push feature projects on with an increased chance of success.
