To register your interest email info@screen.tas.gov.au

A must-attend for any writer interested in adapting their literary work for screen. Learn the tips, tools and techniques needed to adapt prose writing into a screen play.

With box office statistics showing that feature film adaptations of novels, comic books or real-life events usually have above average box office success the Adaptation workshop will examine the process in-depth, looking at different forms of adaptation (from the novel to real life stories), and covering technical and creative issues with regard to theme, tone and meaning, narrative perspective and ‘voice’, as well as the challenges of adapting character and plot.

The workshop will be run by Eurista Creative Director Stephen Cleary, who has developed over 60 produced feature films and has written and presented numerous work-shops on screenwriting around the world and was convenor of the first Business of Development conference held here in Hobart last year.

Whether you are currently writing a script, or have an existing work you think would make an excellent film, this workshop will give you the opportunity to build on your knowledge of screenwriting and take your project to the next level.
