The Tasmanian Government has assumed a caretaker role ahead of the election for the Tasmanian House of Assembly. It is important during this time that Tasmanian Government resources are not used to communicate political material. As such, no political or election material will be placed on this site.

Screen Tasmania

About us

Screen Tasmania is part of the Culture, Arts and Sport division of the Department of State Growth. Our division also includes Arts Tasmania, Events Tasmania, Active Tasmania, Tasmanian Institute of Sport, Silverdome and Operations & Client Engagement. The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery is also supported by the division.

At Screen Tasmania we are responsible for supporting and developing the state’s film, television and multimedia industries.

We provide grants and equity investments in the development and production of Tasmanian screen projects including short films, drama, documentaries, feature films, television series, video games and digital media, and provides direct support in the form of industry and professional development.

Under the Cultural and Creative Industries Act 2017 Arts Tasmania and Screen Tasmania’s funding assessment panel are drawn from the Cultural Creative Industries Expert Register.

If you are looking for funding support, please read the General Guidelines and Terms of Trade documents to help you determine if you and your project are eligible, as this should also address a number of common questions.
